Hello and welcome!

I'm Marianne Valdez, an artist based on the unceded lands of the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem First Nation). Born and raised in the lower mainland of British Columbia, my artwork reflects my Filipino heritage, love for nature, and ever-evolving curiosity of the human psyche. As a counselling psychology student and aspiring art therapist, exploring the personal narrative is fundamental to my creative expression and how I share my art with others, extending self-discovery to everyone I create with.

Creating artwork for me is a medium of communication and alchemy, imbuing physical materials with the human spirit. Every art piece is a journey of self-discovery, healing, and courage, resulting in thematic bodies of work that resonate with the human journey. It goes beyond expression, being my chosen method of connecting with others and the world.
